Dr. Mark G Dougherty DMD

Dr. Mark Dougherty has practiced medicine for over 30 years and is currently the Chair of the Department of Dentistry at Reading Health System and a member of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine Continuing Education Department.  At Reading Health System, he works closely with Cardiothoracic services, Infectious Diseases, and the Cancer Center (with head and neck cancer).

Dr. Dougherty is also heavily involved in community affairs. He is the President of the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation, a member of the Berks County Community Foundation committee of Dental Needs, member of the Medical Executive Committee at Reading Health Systems, Department Chairs Committee, staff member of The Cancer Committee of Reading Health System, Patient Care Committee, and the Community Benefits Committee.

Additionally, Dr. Dougherty has devoted his time as a volunteer at The Reading Hospital Garden Party and the Reading Museum. Recently through his daughter Morgan, he has associated himself with the Head of the Schuylkill Races at Boathouse Row in Philadelphia, PA.  

He is a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry.  After completing his Dental Studies, he continued his training by doing a Graduate Practice Residency at Community General Hospital. Dr. Dougherty also completed a two-year post grad orthodontic program. He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Albright College and is a graduate of Wyomissing Area High School.
